Health Literacy for Families
Health literacy is how well you understand health information and make good choices about health and medical care. Good activity habits begin early in your child’s life.

"Health connects to school readiness long before a child enters school.
Healthy development continues to support learning throughout childhood and later life." - ECKLC
"Health in the earliest years—actually beginning with the future mother's health before she becomes pregnant—lays the groundwork for a lifetime of well-being…" -Center on the Developing Child at Harvard University (2010)
RESOURCES

ORAL HEALTH
YOUR CHILD'S ORAL HEALTH
AFFECTS THEIR OVERALL WELLNESS
Tooth decay is the most common childhood disease, but it's preventable. Children with dental pain can have trouble speaking clearly, eating, and learning. Use the resources below to promote a healthy mouth. Learn about proper toothbrushing and other preventive measures and how to find a dentist. At HSEOC, children brush their teeth in the classroom daily with adults to model, which helps promote healthy oral behavior at an early age.
HSEOC 's DEDICATION TO
HELPING KEEP CHILDREN HEALTHY
Physical activity fosters normal growth and development, can reduce the risk of various chronic diseases, and can make children feel better, function better, learn better and sleep better. -ECKLC
At HSEOC we take children's health seriously and we know how important it is to start healthy behaviors at an early age. We use, I'm Moving I'm Learning to help make choosing a healthy lifestyle fun!
